Harjit Singh Gill is a bilingual (English/Punjabi) healthcare and housing executive with 17 years in behavioral health leadership. He most recently served as Regional Vice President at Bay Area Community Services, where he built a multi-county region from the ground up, and is joining WellSpace Health as Vice President of Co-occurring Continuum Services. Harjit coaches individuals, teams, directors, and executives—most often those in healthcare, nonprofit, and human services—on career advancement and personal development. He is especially valuable to clients navigating leadership transitions, organizational scaling, or the demands of running mission-driven programs.

Background & Experience

Harjit's path began in direct clinical practice as a psychiatric social worker, providing crisis intervention, discharge planning, and inpatient care within county and hospital behavioral health systems. He moved into administrative and executive roles—directing outpatient programs, managing crisis continuums for Yolo County, and leading BACS's regional expansion into Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo counties, growing it from 13 staff to over 300. He now serves as Vice President of the Association of Behavioral Health Contractors and is joining WellSpace Health as VP of Co-occurring Continuum Services. He holds a Master of Social Work from California State University East Bay, a Master of Arts in Humanities from New College of California, and is completing an MBA at the University of Texas at Permian Basin. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #60858) and has coached through Cadence Leadership+Communication since 2019.

Coaching Approach

Working with Harjit feels less like a formal program and more like a candid, ongoing conversation. He builds relationships through active listening and thoughtful questioning, helping clients notice their own patterns before offering direction. Sessions typically balance reflection with concrete action—clarifying what a client actually wants, then breaking it into steps they can act on between meetings. He creates personalized development plans and checks in on progress regularly, holding clients accountable without being rigid. Above all, clients can expect honesty, steady support, and a coach who has personally navigated the transitions he helps others through.
